The OBK reentry year of 2020 began in January with a full slate of classes and clients for the Life Skill and Job Skill classes that covered 48 hours of instruction over 4 weeks. This began to change in February and March due to Covid-19 as we needed to cancel scheduled classes, reduce client access and begin strict disinfection and cleaning processes at the center to insure protection of our staff and clients.

In mid-March we were not able to meet with any clients in the center, but Mike Schuette (Program Coordinator) and our staff started to make phone contacts with our 60+ clients based on 60, 90 and 120 day reviews. This allowed them to update how the clients were doing now, update their needs assessment, and review action plans. At the same time the clients were told of registering for the various Life Skill and Job Skill classes when they resume including the job resumes, computer and social media training, budgeting and financial management, restorative justice and family skills.
